Dr. Shiew-Mei Huang, Deputy Director of the Office of Clinical Pharmacology at the FDA will be presenting at Clinical Pharmacology Grand Rounds (Auditorium C at University Hospital, 4:00 PM). She will talk about "Application of Pharmacogenetics in Drug Development, Regulatory Review and Clinical Practice" Be sure to attend
October 23 2009:
Congratulations to Wendy Teft (post-doctoral fellow) and Inna Gong (PhD candidate) from Dr. Richard Kim’s laboratory. Wendy won second place (in the Post-doctoral Fellow category )and Inna won 3rd place (in the Graduate Student category) at the 2009 International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (ISSX) conference

Congratulations to Inna Gong and Colin Suen. Both are recipients of Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarships from CIHR. Inna’s [supervisor Richard Kim] research topic is ”Warfarin interindividual variability in clinical drug response: R/S-warfarin and vitamin K level as determinants of maintenance dose”. Colin’s supervisor Richard Kim) research topic is "Polymorphic profiling of intestinal folate uptake by the proton-coupled folate transporter’

Congratulations to our PhD student Marianne DeGorter (Supervisors Drs. Richard B. Kim and Rommel G. Tirona) who was awarded the prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
