David J Freeman MSc, PhD
Dr. Freeman received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Calgary and a Masters degree in Pharmacology from the University of Alberta. He then moved to London, Ontario, to complete a PhD in pharmacology at the University of Western Ontario. Following a Post Doctoral position in the Department of Biochemistry at the same institution, he became a faculty member in the Division of Clinical Biochemistry. He was subsequently recruited to the newly formed Clinical Pharmacology group at Western under the leadership of George Carruthers.
Dr. Freeman is currently an associate professor in the Departments of Medicine (Division of Clinical Pharmacology) with cross-appointments to Physiology - Pharmacology and Paediatrics. He supervises the Clinical Pharmacology Drug Analysis laboratory at University Hospital.
His research interests include human Pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism and development of assays for therapeutics agents and natural products. He is an active member of the University Research Ethics Board.
